MJC Projects Launches Debut Movie

As 100 young men and women gear up to talk interfaith issues in Sarajevo in another three weeks, the MJC Projects department has launched its first movie that documents compelling episodes of Muslim-Jewish cooperation in history.

Muslim & Jews: Saviors in the Darkest Moments of History documents inspiring episodes where Muslims and Jews became each other’s saviors. From the time of Ferdinand and Isabella in Spain in 1492, through the Holocaust, to the recent Bosnian War, each community has stepped up to save the other in need. The 7-minute movie also highlights Sarajevo, the venue for the MJC 2013 conference, where the Jews sheltered Muslims during the Bosnian War between 1992 – 95.

The movie has been created by Andrea Varadi, with additional research by Eszter Baneth. For more MJC Projects, click here, or on the Projects tab above.
