MJC 2014 at the Mauthausen concentration camp
Video
Muslim and Jewish participants of MJC 2014 visit the Mauthausen concentration camp in Austria.
It has become a defining feature of the MJC to hold a prayer in both Jewish and Islamic traditions at sites of collective memory and genocide. At Mauthausen this year, Muslims and Jews stood together as the words of Surah Al-Fatiha, Surah Al-Takweer and the Kaddish soared through the camp, which was of the utmost symbolism considering Jews, as well as Muslims, perished in Mauthausen.

MJC 2012 covered by Slovak News
Video
MJC chairman, Ilja Sichrovsky, went on a bit of a media bender and was interviewed by Slovakia’s TA3 (video below – click here for direct access) and Slovak State TV (see minute 19:53). All the reports are in Slovakian, but think of this as an opportunity to bone up on your Eastern European languages. Or just sit back and be impressed by the level of coverage MJC has received locally! Also, now you know that in Slovakia, it’s “Il’ja Sichrovskij.” We learn new things here every day.
